Know all men by these Presents that we Wm. Colson and Bethany C. his wife in consideration of Two hundred dollars to us in hand paid by B.W. Mathews agent for Moriah McConnico a free woman of Color & her children, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said B.W. Mathews agent & c for Moriah & Children fee simple all that tract or parcel of land known and distinguished in the land office at Cahaba as the NE ¼ of SE ¼ and the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section No 17, Township Ten of Range 11 containing Eighty acres more or less To have and to hold all and singulat the premises with the apprtinances to the said B.W. Mathews & his successor or successors, as agent & c for Moriah McConnico & her children, her heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and [] the said William Coleson and Bethany C. his wife do warrant and forever defind all and singular the premises hereby conveyed unto the said Moriah McConnico and her heirs and assigns against every person lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. Signed, Sealed and delivered this 11 of July in the year of our Lord 1859.

I J. Kyser an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County hereby certify that Wm Coleson & Bethany Coleson, whose names are signed to the foregoing conveyance who is known to me acknowledge before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance, they executed the same voluntarily on the day of the same bear date.

Given under my hand this the 11th day of July A.D. 1859.
