I, Hartwell TUCKER, make good and convey to my boy named HINTON all right, title, and interest which I have to him and by these presents doth hereby emancipate him the (said) HINTON after the _____ day of April, 1838.

(I think this is the Rice HINTON who appears on the 1850 Marengo Co., AL census, page 21, dwelling # 283: Rice HINTON, 36 yrs of age, male, mulatto, shoemaker, b. VA ---- but not positive)
