I am trying to locate my 4th great grandfather Nelson Parsons who married Elizabeth Dailey who was in Dallas Co.,Alabama in 1850. Nelson Parsons was stated to have killed a man in Dallas Co., Alabama and sent to jail in either Dallas Co., or Monroe Co., Alabama the Masons got him out and he and his wife Elizabeth Dailey swam the river and went to Texas. Nelson Parsons was not hunted or wanted and died in Texas and the Masons gave money to Elizabeth to come back to Alabama where she later died. I have looked in local court case, but this one may have been a civil court case. I need help in finding this information.
