After her husband (J.E. Ledbetter)died--probably during or after the 1920s--Pearl Ledbetter moved from Calhoun Co. to run a boarding house connected somehow with the Selma Cotton Mill. Is this a name of a business? I can't seem to find it that way. Does anyone know of a cotton mill with a boardinghouse in operation during the mid-20th century in the Selma region? Pearl was shot and killed trying to intervene between two men who were fighting in her boarding house. I'd like to find the newspaper account, the name of the business and boarding house, and any other pertinent information regarding this lady. Thanks!
